Virgin Gorda, British Virgin Islands for Investors

British Virgin Islands A guide to Virgin Gorda which is prime for investment real estate

 British Virgin Islands

Virgin Gorda in the British Virgin Islands (BVI) is a pristine Caribbean Isle that is an ideal location for overseas real estate investors. This 8 square mile island is situated at the easternmost tip of the Virgin Islands and is relatively undeveloped. Frommer’s travel guides (www.frommers.com ) has selected Virgin Gorda as one of the top travel destinations for 2007. The BVI currency is the US dollar, so like much of the Caribbean it is a good time for Europeans and Brits to travel and invest here. With the dollar approaching record lows vs. the pound and Euro, your money goes a lot further now.

Oil Nut Bay, a new freehold development, is located at the eastern peninsula of Virgin Gorda, a prime location for investors and anyone who wants to enjoy their privacy and the spectacular sights of the Caribbean. This 400 acre freehold estate is now selling properties for individual investors.

Another new development here is South Sound Properties located at Mattie Point. There are a number of waterfront and water view lots of approximately 1 acre each, available for those interested in constructing their dream home. With beautiful beaches and clear blue water, it is hard to imagine a better place to live.

Blessed with some of the most enjoyable year round weather anywhere, a stable government and an English law-based legal system, the British Virgin Islands have long been a popular place for discerning international real estate investors. The main island of Tortuga which is located a few miles to the west of Virgin Gorda and only 60 miles from Puerto Rico, is the population and administrative center for the islands. Of the overall population of approximately 22,000, some 2,600 reside on Virgin Gorda.

Virgin Gorda has its own airport with direct flights to Tortuga, St. Thomas and San Juan, Puerto Rico. There are also regular ferries to Tortuga and St. Thomas
